Anxiety

Some 20% of the population suffer from an anxiety disorder in the course of their lives. Fear is actually a meaningful emotion that warns us of danger and prepares us for fight or flight. If the feeling of anxiety becomes so dominant that everyday life is increasingly difficult to cope with, therapy can help. There are different types of fear, including specific phobias (spiders, heights, blood, syringes, darkness) and non-specific phobias such as generalised anxiety disorder or panic disorder (heart palpitations, dyspnea, nausea, tremors, dizziness, etc.).

Those affected do their utmost to avoid the triggers for their anxiety, spending their everyday lives in constant fear of the next panic attack. This leads to increasing isolation, feelings of hopelessness and loss of self-worth.

Behavioural therapy has been shown scientifically to be the most successful therapy method in anxiety treatment. The goal is to limit the influence of fear in your life. To this end, we first address the stressful thought patterns that are currently sustaining your anxiety; in a second step, you learn how to concretely overcome your fear and regain your freedom of movement.
